Firstly, it’s been a year for this blog.
I spent a year. It seems long way away now. I missed couple of moths without any posts. I need to re -look at my writing on what I have done in past year, What I could have done better and may be to find aspiration to upheaval my writing to next level. From my past year my ability to share stories seems grown up with time. Twenty years down the time I used to collect stories as a child , now same habit keep fascinating me to embrace experience of people and their perspective of story.
Secondly, it’s been a long time proper post published in rice & curry other than heading to my belly twice or thrice a day. Well, I don’t think this post either would be “proper” recipe to Rice & Curry, but I see this as an appetizer for upcoming delight.
Thirdly, one of my colleges praise me on how my stories connect to them. It’ is such a whelming feedback for me. My love to see different perspective on simple yet complex things seems not only energize me , but also it touches emotions to be better and better day by day to my friends seems fascinating.
Let’s look at my past year.
My first post Dian Gomes was first published on 3rd July 2013, exactly day after Sri Lanka beaten India after long time. It looks like the first genuine step I took to gather my thoughts and share. Then In July, I wrote seven posts. Believing Worms, Sometime you win, sometime you lose, sometime it rain, The Best Things in Life, When life knocks you down roll over and look for the stars, Deer Park Girithale, Don’t mess up with rice & curry. Most of these post were recalling my perspective on things happen around me.
In august, I wrote two posts. One is about girl I met in train The Mermaids and the other Inviting Old Friend for a Drink. From both posts I get enjoyable feedback to my second post “inviting old friend for a drink” which woven around my childhood memories was indeed fun to write and share.
I try to translate Sinhala novel chapter to English for the first time in September, purely to the fascination I had after reading “Atha Atha Nara”, which is one of the best I have read in Sinhalaese for past couple of years. Apart from that , I also wrote very special post about me A Fathers Love
Year 2014 has only 4 posts for last six months. There are several reason for such a low number of posts. One prime reason is work and I had to travel a lot more than I expected. Best writing for 2014 would be Valentine 14, Corridor of uncertainty – Bangalore Traffic and my cricket love That Sunday describing world cup triumph and It’s not cricket’ describes the cricket game in unknown perspective.
All together I wrote about 25 posts for past year. Here is the statistic on visitors who come to my blog.
This is nothing much, but definitely encourage me to do more and more. Well, good inspiration to write again and concentrate again.
